Scoring runs is the AirHogs business and business was good this past weekend. Grand Prairie traveled to Pensacola for their first road series of 2010, taking two out of three weekend games both by scores over ten runs. Saturday, the AirHogs and Pelicans displayed some offensive firepower as the ‘Hogs took the second game of the series by the score of 19-17. AirHogs first baseman Greg Porter went five for six on the night and went deep twice.

The AirHogs took the third game of the series, 12-4 behind a lights out save performance from pitcher Greg Krause. Krause went four innings in relief giving up only three hits and not allowing one Pelican to cross the plate. Krause struck out two to tally his first save of the season.

The fireworks started after a 2-1 AirHogs loss in game one in Pensacola. Grand Prairie had picked up it’s first two losses of the season at the hands of Sioux City earlier in the week in a double header because of a rain canceled game. The ‘Hogs took game three of the series by the score of 7-5 on Education Day at the ballpark where the AirHogs welcomed over 3,000 Grand Prairie ISD elementary students to a special day game at QuikTrip Park.

The 6-3 South Division leading AirHogs take on the Shreveport-Bossier Captains for a three game series followed by the I-30 rival Fort Worth Cats for a two game set this Friday and Saturday. Don’t forget that on Thursday it is $1 Beer Night, so bring all of your friends for a good time. This Thursday in particular, the first 300 fans who visit the Texas Motor Speedway display will receive a race voucher for the upcoming Firestone 550 Race.
